WHY ARE CROSS-COUNTRY POLES IMPORTANT?
Cross-country poles are not only an important driving force on the track, but they also support your movements and provide you with balance and stability. Properly used poles improve your skiing technique and help you maintain a consistent rhythm. Whether you're a beginner or a professional, the right cross-country poles make a big difference in performance and are therefore indispensable for every cross-country skier.
WHICH CROSS-COUNTRY POLE IS RIGHT FOR YOU?
The right cross-country pole depends on your skiing style, performance level, and personal preferences. Beginners should opt for sturdy aluminum poles, while advanced and professional skiers will benefit from lightweight carbon poles with advanced grip systems.
WHAT LENGTH SHOULD A CROSS-COUNTRY POLE BE?
The correct length of cross-country poles depends on the skiing technique (classic style or skating style) and the skier's height. For classic style, the length of the poles should be about 83-85% of your body height. A simple method for calculation is: height in cm x 0.84 = recommended pole length. For skating style, poles are generally longer, about 88-90% of your height. Here, it is: height in cm x 0.89 = recommended pole length. For an exact calculation, we also have a pole length advisor on our website. Simply enter your height and choose your preferred sport, and you will get the optimal length.
WHICH LEKI GRIP SYSTEM IS RIGHT FOR YOU?
The right grip system for cross-country skiing depends on personal preferences, intended use, and desired comfort. The LEKI Shark system allows for a direct connection between your hand and the pole. With the push of a button, you can easily click in and out of the pole. It provides precise guidance and excellent power transmission. The Nordic FRT grip is a system specially developed for cross-country skiing. Here, the loop is firmly attached to the grip and can be adjusted with millimeter precision. This ensures an optimal hand-pole connection and maximum power transfer on the track.
