WHY ARE ROLLER SKI POLES IMPORTANT?

Roller ski poles are not only offer important propulsion, they also support your movements and give you support and stability. Nordic blading was invented almost 100 years ago to provide cross-country skiers with suitable training in summer.

CARBON OR ALUMINIUM?

A large part of our ski poles consists of high-strength aluminum shafts. These are prepared and hardened in a process specially developed by LEKI. This gives the aluminum shafts maximum stability and allows them to withstand extreme conditions. Aluminum poles are less sensitive to impacts and edge cuts and are therefore very durable.

Carbon fibers are about 8 times thinner than a human hair and are produced in a technology-intensive process. Thanks to this high-quality raw material, our carbon canes are extremely light and have a high bending strength.

WHICH GRIP SYSTEM IS THE RIGHT ONE?

In hardly any other sport is the hand-pole connection as important as in the Nordic disciplines. In order to achieve maximum power transmission, the strap and grip must be precisely adapted to the runner. With our FRT system, the loop can be adjusted to the athlete with millimetre precision. This way, every runner can get the maximum out of their pole. Our shark system is a specially developed grip-loop system that allows you to easily click in and out of the pole. It gives you precise guidance and optimal operability.

WHAT IS THE FIN VARIO SYSTEM?

The fin vario plate changing system allows you to adjust your plate size depending on the condition of the trail. The cross-country plate S/M is suitable for rather firm snow. For soft ground or fresh snow, we recommend the slightly larger M/L plate. For the road, the scooter tip is optimal. The plates and tips can be changed without tools. Poles with a fin vario tip can therefore be used in winter as well as in summer.

HOW DO I FIND THE RIGHT POLE LENGTH?

The appropriate length of the cross-country ski or roller ski poles can be calculated with a simple formula. For classic style: body height in cm x 0.84 = recommended cross-country pole length. For skating: body height in cm x 0.89 = recommended cross-country pole length. For an exact calculation, we have also integrated a pole length advisor on our website. Simply enter your height and select the desired sport and you will find out the optimal length.
