WHAT IS CROSS TRAIL?
The focus of the cross trail is not on sporting competition, but on experiencing nature and switching off from the stresses of everyday life. It's about keeping your own body fit and efficient while enjoying nature. Similar to hiking. However, a hiking tour is time-consuming. Long-term and complex tour planning, as in technical, high-alpine mountain sports, rarely fits into the schedule. Cross trail mountain tours are shorter and more intense. They also have to fit into the schedule spontaneously before or after work. Cross trail is the perfect sport for everyone. You don't have to travel long distances or plan a stay of several days. Your next adventure can start right on your doorstep.
WHY ARE POLES IMPORTANT FOR CROSS TRAIL?
Cross trail poles are extremely light and extremely flexible. They help you move quickly and efficiently on the mountain. With poles, your muscles use less energy per step, which increases performance. In addition, the weight distribution on arms and legs relieves the entire musculoskeletal system. The drive from poles also provides more speed and the additional ground contact helps you in challenging terrain – especially downhill.
WHICH GRIP SYSTEM IS THE RIGHT ONE?
The cross shark combines the advantages of a trail running grip with those of a trekking grip. It combines the speed of the shark system with the support of an ergonomic support surface, making it ideal for fast mountain walking.
HOW DO I FIND THE RIGHT POLE LENGTH?
A rule of thumb says that the pole is the right length when it is placed vertically on the ground and your upper and lower arm form a 90° angle. If you are still unsure or would like to have the length calculated exactly, we also have a pole length advisor on our website. Simply enter your height and select the type of sport and you will find out the optimum length.
