WHY ARE SKI POLES IMPORTANT?

Ski poles are an essential part of skiing equipment that is often underestimated. They offer numerous advantages that make skiing safer and more enjoyable. Ski poles help maintain balance and stability, especially on uneven terrain or at high speeds. When turning, ski poles ensure perfect timing and efficient power transfer. They make maneuvering easier and promote good posture. In addition, poles also assist with pushing and supporting.

WHICH SKI POLES ARE SUITABLE FOR BEGINNERS?

For beginners, easy-to-use ski poles are recommended. The key is to feel comfortable. Weight, length, and handling are the factors to pay attention to. Robust aluminum poles with a strap system are a good choice for beginners.

HOW LONG SHOULD SKI POLES BE?

The right length of ski poles is crucial for an optimal skiing experience. Poles that are too long or too short can affect balance and reduce enjoyment. So, how do you find the right length? The optimal pole length depends on various factors, including your height and the type of skiing (piste, freeride, etc.). A general rule of thumb is that ski poles should be about 70% of your body height. When you place the ski pole vertically on the ground and your upper and lower arm form a 90° angle, it has the right length. You can also calculate it more precisely by multiplying your height in centimeters by 0.7. If you're still unsure or would like an exact calculation, we also have a pole length advisor on our website. Just enter your height and select your sport, and you'll find the optimal length.

CARBON OR ALUMINUM SKI POLES?

The choice between carbon and aluminum ski poles depends on your individual needs. Here you will learn about the advantages and differences of both materials to make the best decision. The high-strength aluminum shafts are processed and hardened using a special method developed by LEKI. As a result, our aluminum poles are highly stable and less susceptible to impacts and edge cuts. The good balance of durability and performance makes them the ideal companion for beginners and recreational skiers as well as freeride skiers. Carbon fibers are about 8 times thinner than a human hair and are produced in a technologically complex process. High-quality carbon poles are extremely lightweight and have high bending strength. They are the right choice if you're looking for maximum performance and minimal weight, making them particularly suitable for competitive athletes and demanding skiers.

WHICH LEKI GRIP SYSTEM IS RIGHT FOR YOU?

Which system is right for you largely depends on the individual needs and preferences of the skier. The PAS system is the classic strap system. The strap is individually adjustable and firmly attached to the grip. It is especially suitable for beginners and traditional skiers. The Trigger systems allow you to quickly and easily click the glove in and out of the pole. This direct connection enables optimal power transfer when pushing and maximum control when using the pole. In certain situations, such as a fall, the patented alpine Trigger systems (Trigger S / Trigger 3D) can release the straps or gloves from the pole, reducing the risk of injury. Additionally, your ski pole won’t be lost when you are on the lift. This system is particularly suitable for skiers who value easy handling and performance. Our Trigger poles are compatible with all Trigger gloves and Trigger straps.
