HOW DO I TAKE CARE OF MY GLOVES?
LEKI gloves are characterised by the highest level of quality and durability. Whether Winter gloves or all-season gloves, it is important that you look after your gloves properly to ensure this longevity. Here are some tips on care and cleaning that can significantly extend their lifespan.
What do I need to know?
Before you start cleaning, check the care label. You can use the washing symbols to determine which cleaning method is suitable for your gloves. Here you will also find information on whether your gloves can be machine washed or not. Even if your gloves are machine washable, we recommend washing them by hand. Hand washing is much gentler. You will also find information about the material and condition of your gloves on the glove label. With this knowledge, you can start cleaning.
How do I clean my gloves?
To ensure optimum durability, we recommend that you regularly wipe off coarse dirt with a damp cloth. If necessary, a light hand wash in lukewarm water with a small dose of mild detergent can also be used. Please do not use heavy-duty detergent!
How do I dry my gloves?
To dry the gloves, wring them out gently and dab them dry with a clean towel. You should then allow them to air out at room temperature. Caution: Drying in the tumble dryer, on the radiator or with a hairdryer makes the materials, especially leather, stiff and brittle, and can also damage laminations.
How do I protect my gloves?
To protect your gloves again after cleaning, we recommend spraying the textile parts with commercial impregnating spray after drying. Leather parts can be greased with commercially available leather balm.
Where do I store my gloves?
A dry, cool place is best for storing your gloves. Also make sure that you do not pack them damp or wet.
