I received my first pair of trekking poles as a participant in Big City Mountaineers Summit for Someone program. Due to rainy weather we ended up hiking 18 miles all the way back to Olympic National Park's Hoh RAIN Forest Visitor Center. I had plenty of time to bond with my Leki Makalu poles! The Leki poles REALLY helped me navigate around, and eventually through, the puddles that grew larger and larger as the the day went on and the rain continued to fall.
